YT-DL lets you download YouTube videos as MP4, extract MP3 audio, get a full transcript in the video's original language, or generate an AI-written summary of the content — all from your browser, no software required.
No. Guest users can download without registering, but are limited to 3 downloads per day per IP address. Creating a free account removes that cap and gives you a coin balance you can top up.
Coins are the in-site currency used to pay for downloads. Every new account receives 50 free coins on registration. You also receive 10 free coins per day. Additional coins can be purchased with Solana (SOL) — see the Buy Coins button after signing in.
MP4 video: 5 coins. MP3 audio: 5 coins. Transcript: 1 coin. AI Summary: 1 coin. Coins are only deducted when a download completes successfully — failed downloads do not cost coins.
MP4 video is available at 480p, 720p, or 1080p. MP3 downloads the best available audio track. Transcripts are fetched in the video's original language. AI Summaries are generated from the transcript using a large language model.
Payments are accepted in Solana (SOL) only. After signing in, click Buy Coins and choose either Deposit Address (send SOL to the shown address within 30 minutes) or Phantom Wallet (one-click payment via the Phantom browser extension). Coins are added automatically once the transaction is confirmed on-chain.
Yes. The first 500 coins are priced at $0.10 each. Coins 501–5000 are 60% off ($0.04 each). Coins above 5000 are 80% off ($0.02 each). The discount breakdown is shown in the Buy Coins modal before you pay. Note: the Deposit Address method also adds a $0.50 flat fee to cover on-chain transaction costs; the Phantom Wallet method has no flat fee.
MP3 and MP4 downloads are processed through a shared queue. Users with a higher coin balance are given higher priority. Guest users (coin balance of 0) are placed at the lowest priority — a balance of just 50 coins puts you ahead of every guest. If the queue is busy, your download will wait; the status will show "Waiting in queue..." until a worker picks it up. Transcripts and summaries are not queued and run immediately.
No. Coins are only deducted after a download completes successfully. If a download errors out, no coins are charged and you can try again.
No. Files are deleted from the server immediately after being delivered to your browser (delete-on-delivery). Requesting the same download link a second time will return a 410 Gone error. Make sure to save the file after downloading.
There is no hard length or size limit enforced by the site. Downloads are streamed directly from YouTube's servers and delivered to your browser. Very long videos may take more time to process.
